Local-First Design
AOVIS Pulse is designed to work primarily with local data on your device and avoid transmitting local usage logs to external servers.
Product Boundary
Codex combines official quota data with local activity on this Mac. Claude reflects observed Claude Code activity on this Mac only.
1. Overview
Overview
AOVIS Pulse is a macOS dashboard app that helps you monitor Codex quota windows and locally observed AI coding activity on your Mac.
AOVIS Pulse is designed to work primarily with local data on your device. The app does not collect personal information and does not transmit local usage logs to external servers.
This policy explains what the app may read locally, what it may request over the network, and how product boundaries are enforced inside the app.
2. Data Accessed on Your Device
AOVIS Pulse may read certain files on your Mac in order to display usage information.
This access only occurs after you explicitly grant permission in the app's settings.
Typical folders include:
~/.codex~/.claude~/Library/Application Support/Claude
These folders may contain local activity logs generated by developer tools such as Codex CLI or Claude Code.
The app reads these files locally and in read-only mode after you explicitly select them in Settings.
3. Data Displayed in the App
Codex
AOVIS Pulse may display official quota information for the currently signed-in Codex CLI account together with local Codex activity observed on this Mac.
Claude
AOVIS Pulse may display observed Claude Code activity on this Mac only. It is not presented as an account-wide total.
Review Mode
If enabled, the app may show bundled sample data instead of live local data so the interface remains usable on a clean system.
AOVIS Pulse does not describe Claude data as account-wide usage, and it does not mix unrelated ChatGPT usage into Codex metrics.
4. Network Access
AOVIS Pulse may make outbound network requests to retrieve official Codex quota information for the currently signed-in Codex CLI account.
No local activity logs are transmitted as part of these requests.
The network access described here is used for official Codex quota retrieval only and not for uploading local developer-tool logs.
5. Data Collection
AOVIS Pulse:
- does not collect personal information
- does not track users
- does not upload local usage logs
- does not use analytics or advertising SDKs
All usage calculations are performed locally on your Mac.
6. Local Storage & Processing
The app processes local files in order to calculate:
- Codex quota windows
- local Codex activity observed on this Mac
- observed Claude Code activity on this Mac
Claude data shown in the app represents locally observable activity only, not account-wide usage.
The app may also store local snapshot cache files, widget bridge files, and alert state files on your Mac to support the interface and system integrations.
7. App Sandbox
The app runs under the macOS App Sandbox.
File access is restricted and only available after the user explicitly selects folders in Settings using macOS security-scoped permissions.
8. Review Mode
AOVIS Pulse includes a Review Mode that displays bundled sample data when no local developer tool logs are available. This allows the interface to remain usable on clean systems and App Review devices without requiring personal local logs.
